Paris by Bike

Last Saturday afternoon some friends and I rented bicycles to ride around Paris. It was SO much fun!!! It was a fantastic way to see Paris, Paris is so much friendlier by bike. Also, it made me realise just how condensed Paris is, we were able to see so much in such a short space of time. We started at Bastille heading off along the Seine to Notre Dame before heading to Jardin Luxembourg for a quick break followed by Saint Sulpice, Tour Eiffel and then just out of Paris proper to Bois de Boulogne. It was the perfect way to spend the afternoon until...I fell.

Riding through the park I came off my bike straight into the gravel, hitting my head and badly scratching my hands and arms. I thought I was fine but within a couple seconds there was blood coming down my face. But my friends took very good care of me and the ambulance was called. Petra came with in to the hospital where I was glued back together (seriously glued, no stitches required), patched up and given a tetanus shot. We then caught a taxi back to my apartment where Petra made me dinner and put me to bed (thanks Petra!!! I really appreciated it, more than you know).

It’s been a few days now and I’m feeling a lot better, definitely on the mend. I just can’t wait to heal so I can get back on a bike! I really want to cycle around Paris again before it gets too cold and miserable.
